Who is the artsiest, most highbrow, heady wrestler to ever grace the ring? Someone who really embodies wrestling being an artform?

maybe not the best "moves", especially as they got older, but they were very good at working the match (faking the fight) to get a reaction from the crowd

the "art" of professional wrestling is/was convincing people you wanted to fight each other and then going into the ring and making them believe you were actually fighting in a way that made them care who was going to win

      Kenny

He's all gesticulations and facials without substance like the worst kinds of shitty actors. He can't emote sincerely to save his fucking life, prove me wrong if you can.

That's the point. He's a homosexual that is addicted to the smell of his own farts. He embodies the idiotic "smart" mark that thinks that wrestling is some snooty artsy fartsy shit.

very good choice. he's more theatrical, as in having the art of theater as his main direct inspiration, than any other wrestler i can think of, and he does it without slouching on the actual work on the mat. the perfect synthesis.

regal was like if rowan atkinson was a wrestler. lots of guys can cut great promos but they can't do skits whereas regal was perfect in that role

its gonna be one of the top 10, what you are really asking is who is the best wrestler because if they arent taking it as an performance artform then they are just doing tandem gymnastics
    >top 10 (no order)
    stone cold
    rock
    bret
    hbk
    andre
    hogan
    flair

So I'm assuming this is considering complete packages. Great ringwork, character work, and, most importantly, genuine audience connection.

It has to be Tanahashi, then. Nobody moves the audience at his will like he does, at least not in the modern era.
Other honorable mentions go to Angle, Austin, Rock, Flair, and Danielson. But Ace is the best.
