    >yo what if i totally copied the vocal style of Ian Brown and Shaun Ryder while you played hackneyed pub rock melodies and overdubbed 300 guitar tracks later on and we made the lyrics up in five minutes

No way all off these Mancs sound the same, what could be the link between them? Also Ian is much more melodic than Liam

unironically, the Ryder brothers were leagues more talented than the Gallaghers. at least they had influences beyond their dad's old Gary Glitter and T Rex albums

        of course they were
but it's not just about Oasis being shite - they singlehandedly killed the entire UK rock scene
after an embarrassment of riches in the 80s and early 90s (jamc, the fall, new order, stone roses, happy mondays, mbv, weddos, pulp, ride), not a single good band formed after Oasis made it big. not one. and it's for a reason.

all the bands you mentioned formed before Oasis made it big
except maybe Elastica, i don't know when they formed, but they sucked anyway
the post-Britpop UK rock scene was a wasteland and it's never really recovered. Oasis are responsibly for this.

I'd say it's more like people with zero musical talent failing to recognize musical talent when they hear it. Noel's songwriting and guitar-playing are first rate. Liam has the voice of a god. They got their shit together for two phenomenal albums, then they went full rock-star and got formulaic. Doesn't change what they accomplished. Shitting on Oasis says a lot more about the person doing the dissing than it does about Oasis.

Oasis is the ultimate music mid-wit filter. Hence why so many LULZ users are caught out by it and end up in a seething rage. Most actual musicians love Oasis, hell even Damon Albarn said Oasis were better, its just pretentious fans who have a meltdown over them.

            1. Bryan Adams is not a bad songwriter but his lyrics are widely-acknowledged to be the ravings of a prepubescent child.
            2. Bon Jovi has zero songs that stand the test of time. Think I'm wrong? Listen to "Living on a Prayer" or "Wanted Dead or Alive" a hundred times. Boomers and Gen X have heard it 10,000 times.
            3. Why do Oasis haters always throw their worst songs down on the table like they're a goddamn aces-over full house? NO Oasis fans listen to Wonderwall or Live Forever - those are the skip tracks if you're not a fucking teenybopper. This is the shit we crank up to 11 -

There are no deep Oasis cuts you proper cunt. Oasis are quite popular and all their good tracks are widely known by music fans worldwide. The fact that you KNOW Acquiesce is a killer cut tells me that you are just another LULZ contrarian looking for attention. no, it isn't a 'killer cut'. it's shit. that's the thing you don't get: i know their catalogue. i probably know the songs better than you do. i used to love Oasis. but then i realized something: the songs are shit. they fucking suck. and they killed the UK indie rock scene, because everyone went and signed fucking Oasis imitators like Kula Shaker and Ocean Colour Scene, who are somehow even worse than Oasis themselves.
