About fifteen years ago I got a pair of vans that I used as daily beaters. Were very comfortable and lasted for years, wore them until the soles were smooth. Apparently they don’t make that model anymore. A couple of years ago bougjt another pair, not nearly as comfortable and they don’t look like they’ll last as much. Doubt I’ll be buying more vans in the future.

Converse last pretty long for me, but I only wear them in summer, so there’s that.

Had a pair of Levi’s leather snrakers. The only leather shoes I’ve had that actually cracked. Never getting shoes from levis again, even though I concur that they look pretty good.

anons, what am i supposed to buy if i want a simple canvas shoe that’ll actually be durable? i currently use picrel every day, but it’s only been a few months and I’ve already had to glue the sole on one side. other than that i really like them.
i also quite like this anon’s levis
but I’m reading that they also don’t last long. anything similar looking that’ll actually be quality?

You are very practical. Almost gay with the red all stars, but not quite gay. Also you’re Canadian and live in a small town.

i cant hecking believe people where converses still. i had like two pairs in high school. socks last longer than those hecking worthless pieces of shit.

Whatever your opinions on converse aestheticly, I’d always say get the 70s over plain chucks. The regular ones would last me about a year before being unusable while the 70s went about 2 years before I just stopped wearing them (probably could go longer).

Do the ‘custom’ made option if it’s a big deal. I think it makes price like 10-20 more than stock 70s or something. Still probably cheaper than replacing the classic every yead.

Though it depends if you’d rather have it look cleaner and last longer, or look grungier and more worn. Jsxrmw

chuck 70 high tops and slip on vans can live in peace if just try 😀

Hate the white toe, simple as

Have a pair of black on black high top vans, they are fine, but the outer canvas layer has torn for no real reason with next to no wear. Seems they are just cheap shit.

I had some good black leather Nike sneakers that lasted years of daily use

      >high top
      bottom vibes

never wore converse. had a few pairs of vans but they are pretty cheap/low quality. I usually go for Nike nowadays for sneakers.

just be aware some of those brands use cotton canvas some use recycled polyester canvas, read the description "canvas" just means the type of weave.

Americans are salty with Nike because some moron knelt in front of their flag or something and apparently it was the worst thing ever, so the moron got fired from his sports team. Later said moron made and ad for Nike and a bunch of stupids seethed and burned their Nike stuff. The rest of the world don’t give a shit, but americans think they should for some reason.
