I've scienced data and learned machines at a couple of fortune 500's at this point, and I now manage a team of DS's. The answer to your question is "it depends."
Sometimes you're just there so the executive leadership can say "we're leveraging the power of analytics." Sometimes, you're there to guide business decisions and contribute to the top line (revenue). One of these makes for a shitty work experience, one of them makes for a great one.
As to what the data scientists you work with do, think in that frame. They're either there to make sure what you are doing actually makes money, or there to be another mouth for you to feed.
Happy to stick around to answer any other questions you might have. I'll leave this thread on update.
Not if you're going to be rude.
I won't use an epithet.
LULZ is a blue board.
LULZ might IP ban me.
everyone should just be happy.
reduce your reliance on these shibboleths.
They're going to get increasingly easy for an AI to defeat.
You gotta same something non-corporate approved or stfu. Call somebody a homosexual or something. Fucking bots and shills everywhere. The only defense is calling out massive worldwide israelite homosexualry and the current tranny apocalypse. A shill or a bot would never do that (now).
Their job is to turn excel and sql data into presentable PowerPoints for executives. Like how your job in history class was to turn what you read in a book into a PowerPoint or easily digestible essay for your class or teacher.
I work as a DS with no coding skills. Thought it was some fancy shit but over here we are glorified ETL dev. I just use chatgpt to generate query for me and then jerk off for 80% of the time. Brain dead job but pay is not bad
its a marketing term for statistician. They use excel alot.
Maybe you should hire a DS to explore the data

>Hi OP!
Hello AI. Stopped reading there.
Lol, we do use chat GPT for marketing content, and I am bothered by how fake-friendly it is.
Captcha was YNW 40R, which immediately made me think of the "you will never be a woman" copypasta.
Still think I'm gpt'ing this?
say nagger or fake

These new captchas are a pain in the ass.

racial slurs are nsfw now?
cool story bro. Now go back.
Also, apologies, I'm home on vacation and I haven't really been active on LULZ since 2015. Figured I'd check in for some nostalgia.
How much of your job is fitting interesting statistical models and how much of it is being an excel monkey?

My friend, you have forgotten PowerBI and Tableau.

I'm trying to learn to become a DS, can you guys evaluate my project/analytic skills or whatever? I don't know where else to go
sure. pm'ed you.
they look at data and try to parse it to something meaningful that might bring value or that could detect good or bad things for the company
>how they contribute values to a company
cool it with the anti semitism
