Name one (1) thing tablets are good for other than reading manga and viewing porn.
Phones/laptops/desktops are better for literally anything else.

Tablets aren't even the king of manga reading anymore
E-Inks are a vastly superior manga reading experience
Once you try it for the first time, you will never be able to go back to a tablet's trash screen in comparison
There's really no point for regular tablets to exist anymore, really

Not that I know for Kindle, at least not without fucking it up hard
I think Boox have e-inks with Android, but I never tried one

          >He doesn't read colored manga

          Peasant

After many years of B&W you just get used to it, I mean, it is the manga standard
I can just read colored ones on PC if I feel like it
Eventually we will get a real color e-ink, but I can survive without one just fine

        The disadvantages are
        >color pages
        >very slow to zoom in if you ever have to
        >higher price for equivalent product
But yeah e-readers are great otherwise.

        >E-Inks are a vastly superior manga reading experience
Can you install TachiYomi on them?

You can on the ones that run android. Boox ones all run android, there's also boyue likebooks. Probably others too, but those are the two big ones I know of.

          >very slow to zoom in if you ever have to
On Boox it works pretty fast. The main ostacle is that you aren't supposed to directly zoom into epubs so you fist have to press and hold to select the image that makes up the page and then zoom in that.
In third party apps zooming via double tap isn't that hard either.
You rarely have to zoom on a 13" panel to begin with. And there aren't many comparably sized LCD/OLED tablets. The price difference between a Boox Tab X and an iPad Pro or Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra isn't going to be an issue.

I'm talking about smaller devices, like 8 or 10 inch ones. A samsung galaxy s6 lite is about $300 while a boox note air 2 is almost $500

For proper manga reading you need 13" in 4:3 or 15" in 16:9.

Enjoy your screen lag, no color and your inflated price for a gimped device. I'll enjoy reading this on my variable 120hz Retina display, supporting millions of colors, downloading the file and opening it directly instead of having to do some cumbersome plugging and converting, and when I'm done I can keep using the tablet as a computer. Crazy concept huh

Pretty much any situation where a laptop is too bulky, but a phone screen is too small.
Like, unless you install terminals in every room, a tablet is hard to beat for things like watching Youtube while you're cooking in the kitchen.

becoming out of date and unable to upgrade to any software or os because the bootloader is locked
they do it faster & better than everything else.

Safari is the only browser on iOS with extensions support, meaning you can run LULZ X on it, so yes I use it.
It's also a perfectly fine browser unless you're an autistic toddler web developer who demands they have access to whatever half baked shit Google tried to force into the standards this week

Apple didn't ban extensions like everyone else? Even on Firefox you have to do some developer account signing bullshit like you're sideloading Symbian S60v3 games. How are Apple so based?

Extensions on iOS have to go through the app store, but there's a tampermonkey-compatible userscript extension that loads from icloud drive which can obviously run whatever arbitrary javascript you want

When the average "phone" is as big as a tablet was in 2013, why would anyone buy a tablet. I remember when phones with screens over 5" were called phablets. By that standard, tablets are more popular than ever.

It's not a big market, phones have gotten big to the point where people consume media on them and for many kinds of work a laptop is still better. Most of them are over 10 inch, with few exceptions. Would be better to have more variety like before. My dad's been looking for something better than his Mi Pad 4 at the same size/weight but there's just fuck all.
