Are swallowable robotic pills that dispense anti-depressants on schedule a scientifically plausible solution?

Are swallowable robotic pills that dispense anti-depressants on schedule a scientifically plausible solution? Would such measures be enough to keep the worker bees of the industrial system operating efficiently?

Oh, can we pair this with Assertive Community Treatment too? Can't be too sure those depressed people are going to take their medicine, let's send some cops to assert some antidepressive suppositories right up their backsides.

And they stick to even if it's demonstrably ineffective, but maybe a custom, wirelessly broadcast medication schedule combined with careful monitoring of golem brain neurotransmitter levels can make it actually work?

Are you a Golem? Will you willingly take the pill? No? That's why we need Assertive Community Treatment.

          >Will you willingly take the pill?
Want a brutally honest answer? If the situation becomes that hopeless I may evaluate such an option. The realistic worst-case scenario of it seems like just another form of suicide.

          >Are you a Golem?
          Maybe.

With radio-controlled neurotransmitter adjustments, turning you into something resembling a zombie slave isn't an impossibility. Death might be strictly preferable.

              >turning you into something resembling a zombie slave isn't an impossibility
If there's so little humanity left in you that you can't even experience the situation as undesirable, is it even "you" at that point? It's just a body that used to be you. On the other hand, if it doesn't turn you into a zombie slave but does block hopelessness and despair to keep you functional under inhuman conditions, there's a chance you could use it to your advantage and work towards some goals of your own, maybe even goals that would otherwise feel like a lost cause. It could be a sensible strategic gamble, depending on what exactly these meds did to people, but I suppose either way you would be sacrificing your humanity.

And will be you again in the future. And that future you will have continuity of memory with whatever the zombie-you does, even without remembering *why* you did. e.g., suppose a sadist grabs the transmitter and purposefully induces postpartum psychosis in a new mother, who as a result murders her infant. The sadist then ceases disrupting the mother's neurochemistry, and she's herself again, only she remembers killing her own baby without having the slightest idea why.

                Death may be *strictly* preferable.

I mean mind controlling sadist or not, you may get postpartum psychosis and murder your infant all the same. People do all kinds of shit and never figure out why. It literally doesn't matter.

Then she has some real consequences to deal with after the fact. This doesn't apply in the scenario of someone simply living a "miserable" life that he can't even experience as such.

birth control implants do this for years on end also concerta does this albeit over the period of a day or whatever

with the implant, i wonder what happens if it breaks/is damaged, and with concerta type deals, i wonder what the absolute limit is for a pill like this to remain in the system, still dispensing medication

Those aren't for antidepressants, they're microneedle pills to shoot up stuff from the inside you can't normally take orally like insulin and epinephrine. They're mechanical, there's no electronics in them. (Yet, I guess.)
