Any good alternatives to these? I like the style, but $900+ is a bit steep. I was looking at weejuns, but they have a silver bit instead of a gold one, which I would prefer. Might go for their penny loafer, though.
Carmina makes an almost identical loafer for 330 (that's how much I paid, bidenflation probably made the price go up) and they're better shoes since they're leather lined unlike the Guccis which are canvas lined (unacceptable for a shoe that price)
Definitely go with the Carminas
Half size down for me fits like a glove on the horsebit loafers. Though I have another pair of their loafers on a different last that I never wear because I should have done TTS
i just checked and the cost ~$1k
it's not THAT expensive honestly, i don't know why nagger rap makes gucci out to be some sort of ultra premium brand, middle class in big US cities makes enough to buy 10 of them a month
Because well adjusted adults don't judge affordability of a pair of shoes based on whether you could technically buy 10 of them if you had no other priorities in life other than "gucci ownership". Like I get it you saw the esquire article about john lobb and now you're a bit of an old money stealth wealth core yourself but out here in the real world, if I showed up at work wearing $1000 shoes, everyone would think less of me, it's crass and overtly aspirational
i agree but if you're a multi-millionaire $1000 is chump change so i don't get why the nagger rap homosexuals make such a huge deal out of it
if you're in finance i could absolutely see people wear these

nta but that would come out to $10,875 a month with NYC sales tax, or $130,500 per year
in order to have $130,500 per year in spendable cash, paying only state, federal, and local income tax and having no other living expenses, retirement savings, or eating, mortgage, rent, etc, anon only needs to have a pre-tax income of $205,000 annually or 220% of the area median income, this is a solidly working class honest red blooded american income and if you disagree with me you are a communist
$130k a year is probably top 40% of income in new york or some cities in california if you're white and i obviously didn't mean spendable money you fucking ape
>middle class in big US cities makes enough to buy 10 of them a month

just ordered bespoke penny loafers from my tailor who also has a show guy at hand overall 400 and theyll fit perfectly with even better quality
why would i buy gucci loafers then?
but yeah the look of such loafers is definetly effay
Great looking, but difficult to pull of unless you’re a mafia boss or something
the only good gucci item yeah
I'd recommend going for a fancy German instead
>that pic
Best fit I’ve seen on LULZ in months. Total Chad.
they're enjoying something of a comeback as one sometimes sees with garments that were deeply stigmatized for at least a generation
you need to look young and dress young if you want to pull them off though

Looks like about $395 now lol, but thanks for the recommendation. I had no idea the Gucci ones were canvas lined, that's kinda shitty.
I'd still take superior Carminas for 400 over Guccis for 1000.
Pic are my Carminas by the way
just watch out for the fit, carmina sizing is fucked beyond belief

Just because they can buy them doesnt mean they can afford it.
You're much better off buying loafers from Crockett & Jones, Alden, or Edward Green.
