It's cool but I dont like that they use the cheapest rfic on the market (cc1101) for the rf section. Its definitely overpriced.

So any alternative? I just want one card/device I can put in my keychain and use it in all the fobs/rfid cards reader

The 1wire/iButton emulation alone is worth the price

It supports all the common ones. It does both LF and HF RFID shit.

$50, juice it with AAA or LiPo attachments for $10-20 more, they have a whole ecosystem from breadboard to field-deployable product
Admittedly their documentation is mediocre, they kinda expect you to read the datasheets and then figure out the API for different components by reading the headers or playing with their blockly fork

    I have a proxmark III & a Keysy.

Keysy couldn't clone a card. Proxmark III could. If I take the cloned card, keysy could read the clone. So from my n=1 samples I'd guess the cheap/easy stuff may or may not work.

To use the proxmark III you have to be non-retarded in tech shit though, it's not a button press. Which is really the tech level you need to be at for amateur hacking, basic understanding.

How did people make cases for their projects (like this one) before 3d printing started getting pushed everywhere?

      Anonymous

From wood if they had a router table/skills. You can get high quality crafting supplies in an art store, also good for resin, mold making, metal stuff/instructional materials. A good art store has a surprising amount of quality hardware.

For electronics projects Radio Shack used to have a parts section in the back that sold everything from resistors to small microcontrollers, haven
t been in one in years though. They would also have a variety of plastic/metal project enclosures/battery connectors etc.
Many projects did and still do recycle other things after cleaning and the use of a dremel tool to drill holes or cut sections. Many household/personal items can find a second life this way. Now that you can have non-trivial computer power in a very small package we could enjoy a design renaissance.

3d printing is really good now, I don't want to shit on it. But I do have doubts about chemical fumes without proper ventilation etc. I would rather just pay someone and focus on the electronic part than acquire this skill.
