I just want to play Blue Archive on my laptop, why is it such a problem to do under Linux while I can easily do it under Windows with some random chinese shady programs like blue stacks?

There's lots of stuff that isn't on Linux that is worth it, mobile phone crap isn't one of them

Go to "about phone" in your Android phone's settings.

I'm there. I see no mention of Linux anywhere

he's probably talking about the "kernel version" part under android version, but that just lists the build name and date, it doesn't, at least on lineageos, actually use the word "linux"

            Anonymous

Yeah but we all know it's the Linux kernel. Whether Android counts as "real Linux" is a different question.

            >Yeah, that's just the Build, Linux
            >we don't actually use the word though

Google is schizophrenically trying to pitch Android as a general purpose OS while at the same time heavily restricting what an app can do and locking every app down in its own little sandbox. TL;DR: Google is fucking retarded.

youre the retard along with the billion pajeets who coded shitty apps for more than a decade like text editor that requires permission for location, phonecalls, bluetooth, nfc

Google encourages this shit by boosting apps that contain ads and pushing ad services that scrape all this data.

All my apps are free with no ads. Free apps used to get attention the Play Store according to their quality. Now they get buried in search results. The Play Store is completely pay-for-play.

If Google weren't evil, Android would come with basic utilities like a decent text editor. It doesn't because Google wants to force you to download those street shitter apps full of ads, or buy an app so they get a cut. Google also attacked free app developers by interpreting the homosexual ass GDPR as requiring independent developers to publish their home address on their profile.

You're not thinking like a businessman. Forcing users to buy overpriced (and likely not any higher quality) commercial programs is not a detriment to a platform, it's actually a massive boon because it causes a gold rush of jeets and midwits making sudoku fart apps for a quick buck. The Play Store used to be full of literal malware, and it still managed to draw enough attention to be profitable, even from other corpos.
What is good for users and what is good for stockholders will always be at odds. Sucks, but that's just how it be. Doing the right thing doesn't pay dividends.

there is no reason for them not to burry your app. your time and knowledge might be worthless for you but not for them.

My autism does not like that. Doesn't help I have to run it with a VPN on because dicky archive is blocked in my country.

Gpu passthrough windows in a virt-manager vm and then run bluestacks inside it for now.

That would be a interesting solution, if it wasn't for my laptop having only one gpu. Virgl seems interesting but that also doesn't seem to really work under Windows yet.

You can just run android on qemu. Or even in a container if you have a patched kernel with binder.

virtualbox image that LDplayer uses can be used with virtualbox in linux.
the catch: you have to install ldplayer on windows first, and then copy it's downloaded image to linux

Google makes Play Store games for Windows now. Not all games but some are playable.

Sailfish OS has an Android compatibility layer that is proprietary and requires purchasing a license.

It requires devs to willfully enter the play games on PC program and create a x86-64 optimized version or promise to do so soon
Gachas are usually paranoid about emulators and cheaters as far as I know

how come android is made of linux but you have to run an entire android system in a vm jut to use apps on your pc

Jolla's android app support on SailfishOS is pretty great, integrated notifications, can install google play services even, only missing features are BT/nfc (sadly paid feature and available only on few xperia models)

dude, you can do it officially with code blessed by Microsoft on Windows 11 or by force-installing the same shit in Windows 10
The only reason to use blue-stacks is if you're a 7igger
