An internet blackout and/or grid-down event is virtually inevitable

If they can consolidate this much power and control with a meme flu, imagine what they can accomplish with a false flag strike on the grid. It's coming, and I say that simply because the incentives to do so are too powerful for (((them))) to ignore

      >Have fun shitting next to your family in one room.and having zero sunlight or ventilator
It is a temporary shelter. Notice the garage above. It is connected to the house and you still have the comforts of your house only a few feet away. If danger is so immanent that you cannot risk going back in the house for 5 minutes then nobody will care about taking a shit in the same room.

It is a survival shelter. You'd end up staying there until the radiation from the fallout wasn't at lethal levels. Usually 1-2 weeks after the bombs went off depending on where you are and what number of bombs went off where. The house itself would probably be inhabitable with basic protections in a few days. Taking a dump in front of dad is better than cancer you know.

When doing an emergency plan, you should plan how long you may need to be in there. For a nuclear strike, this is perfect. Wait it out, maybe a day or 2 and check outside conditions. That family probably has 4 to 7 days worth of supplies. Being in there for more than a day would be hell.
The point is temporary shelter, not a, "wait out the apocalypse" shelter.

This is why its important to practice for such situations. At least one weekend a month (and longer if its a bank holiday weekend), my wife, children and I will spend it in the on suite bathroom to mine/wifes bedroom. No one is allowed out, no electronic devices and we eat camping food from foil pouches. It really does bring us closer together.

It's always been inevitable. You've just been living in a peacetime fantasy world this whole time.

Nukes, computers, biology, etc. are around mostly the last ~100 years. Right now the danger is much greater than anytime during all of history.

They could do anything: release viruses, make a fake solar flare, make robots, microwave guns (millimetre wave cannon), army of drones, explosive, non-lethal, soon it will be robot bees, nanotech, etc. and let's not forget the behavioural prediction and control technology enabled by mass surveillance, social media, and AI/data mining. They can detect exactly who is going to become a political radical and in what way, and diffuse "movements" before they happen, they can put ideas and attitudes in your head, and make you think it's your own idea - not even they know how it works, that's the nature of a neural network.

You can't conceive the implications in the abstract, and how they apply to your everyday life. The only people who can do this intuitively are people who are naturally paranoid, they skip all the steps involving intellect and just see the obvious implications of what's going to happen/what can happen. That is why they predicted stuff like RFID chipping everyone for decades before it started to happen, and why they predicted the government would be able to remotely shut down your vehicle (Tesla removing steering wheels and programming cars to automatically respond to police lights/sirens).

      Anonymous

It's trivial now for anyone to do back-of-the-napkin math to say "Ok, 1 drone per person, $1000 per drone, it costs $1 billion to lock down a whole city indefinitely"

And in fact, Palmer Lucky, the little fag who made the cool Oculus Rift dystopian VR toy for you to play with, is working on a giant deployable network of cheap helicopter drones, which enables real-time, millimetre-scale full-3D surveillance anywhere in the world. So you're only limited by money and technology, and the price of those things will continue to decrease.

All the mechanisms for any sort of single "plot", event, takeover, etc. are all already in place. Keep in mind there are contingency plans, wargames, etc. that we do not know about. I doubt if any of you have read a secret government document out of the ones that have been released. Once "they" (the rich, the intellectual class, the garden gnomes, the antifa, the nazis, the lizards) decide, it's truly over for present-day normal citizens.

The one saving grace is that the government is truly incompetent, unaware, and fragmented. But other than that, nothing stands between us and martial law, mass starvation etc. etc.

You are living in a dream world

        Anonymous

Well stated. This should be capped for reposting whenever someone says things aren't as bad as they seem. They're worse in ways that none but the most pessimistic can even begin to fathom.

          Anonymous

Of course it's not "bad", conditions are currently fine, but it's like you're standing on the edge of a knife 24/7. We're very far into the danger-zone.

What I didn't mention is that most of the technology stuff is created freely by corporations. Now imagine when the government starts handing out $50 billion contracts to companies that can actually build real things, like drone armies or social credit systems or anything you can imagine - Instead of just subsidizing old-ass companies like Boeing like they are today. Imagine when we have actually-functioning brain chips, and police/military get them for free. (More likely to happen in China first)

People just don't get it. If you were born in 1960s+ you're living on borrowed time. Since the advent of nuclear weapons we've always just been on the verge of someone pushing the button at any time. That's why all fiction is about crises and dystopia. We are all dead. For some reason that just doesn't sink in. Hyperreality. Stockholm Syndrome. Denial.

There's a fundamental problem with the way people understand the world around them - nobody really has contiguity of consciousness, although they think they do. Even among the most radical people out there (that are known), nobody is trying to really build an original worldview from the ground up without relying on pre-conceived notions. They all share this notion of "Well.... WE are all on this planet, and WE just need to.... xyz" then proceed to refer to their pet issue. Lazy. Dishonest. Limited! People just aren't any good. They're not like characters from movies, they're NPCs with very limited information, intelligence, motivation and emotional processing (neurotypical).

            Anonymous

Even (if and) when another funny world-scale event happens, i.e. 300 million people dying from flooding/drought, or a nuke goes off somewhere (staged or not), they won't understand, you could say "I told you so" they will not even acknowledge it, even after it happens. After I realised this, that is when I truly lost hope in "communicating" with proles.

It's been fun, strange, interesting growing up on this planet. I call this the "post-TV era" - not that people were all that much better before..

      >The only people who can do this intuitively are people who are naturally paranoid, they skip all the steps involving intellect and just see the obvious implications of what's going to happen/what can happen.
Seeing the obvious consequences is not a negation of intellect. What paranoid people negate is the need for hard proof and a source for every step of their thinking. But that is not intellect, intellectual capacity is what allows you to think abstractly and be able to understand what is logically likely to lead to what. Intelligent people understand that most likely, A leads to B which leads to C. Trained academia monkeys stop at A because there’s no peer reviewed paper and photo proof of B, so C is baseless.

Rifle near door so you can't get to it if the top is breached by surprise.. Vehicle with gasoline in it near only exit. If vehicle catches fire, the steel trapdoor could become unusable or warped shut. If vehicle is moved by shock or shoved, one way out blocked with no hope of escape. Heat source exhaust will give visible steam cloud from exhaust on any days cold enough to require its use, giving visible evidence someone is present and has the resources for heat. All of these issues can be resolved by placing the shelter away from the home, hiding the door, move the rifle down. Electric heat source running on a battery bank buried near the shelter. One rifle and sidearm for each household member capable of using them.
