Nah, some people are just losers who find hating things to be the only meaningful thing in their life. That's pretty much the state of this entire board.
I'm not talking solely about this board, the music discourse in general likes to shit on Jim (and by extension the Doors) and call him a "bad poet" and a "drunken idiot", stuff that no other musician ever gets shit for. It's ridiculous, it's just envious rage

Admit it, people only hate him and dismiss his talents because he was too good looking
the doors literally have one (1) good side of 1 (one) album
that's it
Too good looking is actually a burden for whoever has it
Why do you think he grew a beard and got fat
He got sick of being looked at by people smirking
>boomer classic rock
The peak of popular music. Every worthwhile musical genre that remains nowadays is just about chasing the highs attained in the '50s/'60s/'70s.
you're living all over me, doolittle, surfer rosa, let it be, tim, stone roses, meat puppets 2, daydream nation, zen arcade, pornography, disintegration, remain in light, etc are all much better than any doors album. and I love the doors discography and a lot of music from 50s-70s, I have a lot of favorite albums from those years of course. but 80s is when guitar music took an astronomical leap and started actually getting really really good lmao
It's actually because he only made one good album and declared himself a "poet" while not really having the lyrical capability to back that up. I still really like the self-titled though, pretty sad that the rest of the band's career was so filled with duds.
I think the only writing by Scrauffi that I've ever read was the not a big loss for music thing, so no, I'm not mimicking his opinions. Either way I'm interested in what you think is the best Doors record if not the debut.
L.A. Woman is their best, followed by Morrison Hotel and Waiting For The Sun. They're all great though, even Soft Parade (if you get the deluxe versions of those songs without the tacky brass section).
I don't how you could only like Self-Titled and not Strange Days too at the very least, they're from the same sessions
I didn't know they were from the same sessions, but that's pretty interesting. I don't really know why I don't like Strange days. I think it just doesn't have the same kind of late night, smokey mood to it. It kind of sounds like someone was doing a pastiche of the debut but with none of the character that makes the debut so good. Sorry for using such broad terms, but as I said I don't even know myself why I don't like Strange Days. L.A. Woman has a couple of good songs but I think it fails as a cohesive album because of a couple of duds. Even without those couple of songs that I'm not so hot on it doesn't have the same kind of overarching mood that the debut has.
Dunno bro. Read No one Here.
He was a huge douchebag and was also obsessed with drawing dicks like that fat israelite from that Superbad movie. Jim Morrison was a loser bro. Just let it go.
It wasn't thougheverbeit. Everyone took themselves dead seriously in this band, which is why it filters millennials and zoomers so hard, because their musical/pop culture is built on insincerity
Delon is very "pretty" but has no sex appeal, if you look at him long enough you realize he looks like a short haired irish woman. 99% of girls would pick Jimbo

You are very wrong and I'd probably loathe your music taste
The Doors literally don’t have a single bad song
or a CIA puppet, which is ludicrous
Mr. Jojo Reference
He was a real sex symbol
is that sementary?
I love his music but
>good looking
?, no homo but he was very good looking
didn't age well unfortunately
Too good looking is actually a burden for whoever has it
Why do you think he grew a beard and got fat
He got sick of being looked at by people smirking
They hate him because he was a trust fund CIA hack whose only good songs were blues covers and stolen showtunes
Get new material, retard
>he is still smugposting about boomer classic rock
>boomer classic rock

but the 80s and 90s were easily the best decades. that is objectively when guitar music peaked
Give me the best 80s rock album right now then
you're living all over me, doolittle, surfer rosa, let it be, tim, stone roses, meat puppets 2, daydream nation, zen arcade, pornography, disintegration, remain in light, etc are all much better than any doors album. and I love the doors discography and a lot of music from 50s-70s, I have a lot of favorite albums from those years of course. but 80s is when guitar music took an astronomical leap and started actually getting really really good lmao
fuck off leave
>I think this white trust fun kid stole blues music for personal profit
>F-FUCK OFF TO POL NAZI
you are a retard

The self titled isn't even their best. Stop being a Scaruffi drone, that geezer's opinions are worthless

he got a thick ass neck
He is handsome but not "too good looking" lol

people forget that the band was originally supposed to be a joke
when you listen to it that way the music makes so much sense
It wasn't thougheverbeit. Everyone took themselves dead seriously in this band, which is why it filters millennials and zoomers so hard, because their musical/pop culture is built on insincerity

>too
pls he's handsome, that's all.
pic related is your gold standard
