How the heck can I get a proper ad blocker on an iPhone? Firefox Focus, Duck Duck Go Browser, Brave, etc all have pop-ups.
I just want to watch soap2day in peace without endless pop-ups. TIM APPLE CHEATED ME
I feel like I should return this garbage and install Firefox + uBlock Origin on a Pixel.
>install Firefox + uBlock Origin on a Pixel
Auto-resolving threads are something rare
It does not resolve my girlfriend's iMessage addiction.
Get a new girlfriend with brains
Have you been to an American college campus? Everyone uses iMessage.
In either case, there must be a better ad blocker on iOS. What is it?
>Everyone uses iMessage
You don't need to follow the sheeple retard
>there must be a better ad blocker on iOS
There isn't, enjoy your cuck platform
>just be outsider with no friends and gf because normies don’t conform to my tech autism
What a terrible advice.
If someone doesn't talk to you because of your phone brand then they aren't truly friends, don't burguer movies always tell you that apple is evil and you're special being more unique?
>You don't need to follow the sheeple retard
"I don't need iMessage in my Fortress Of Incel Autism. I don't need to talk to anyone. I'm fine here in my lonely autistic cell. Hello?"
no, everyone uses GroupMe. clearly you've never been to an American college campus.
honesly imessage is the most convenient messaging app there is. everything just works, no ads, no retarded changes every update, not even any updates if you don't want them. i'm too old for all that third party shit and tinkering with everything
Whatsapp is better, ifags just like it because "muh crapple special emoticons", that's it.
>installs an app
>too much tinkering for me
what the fuck are you doing on LULZ you retard?
You are a brainlet. Here is what would actually be required:
>Install app
>Create account (I assume, never used this shit)
>Become familiar with new app
>Happen to be chatting with a friend on iMessage, remember about new app.
>Open a very unnecessary dialogue about this new app
>"Hey chad, I have this app called AutismChat, have you heard of it?"
>"Nope."
>"It's cool because of (reasons) and I was wondering if you could install it so I can talk to you over there."
>"We are already talking though, what do you mean?"
>"Oh yeah, I know, but it would be better to talk over there for (more reasons)"
>about 30 minutes has gone by in this painful conversation so far
>Chad actually decides to humor you and install this random app that he literally only needs to talk to you (1 in 100 chance of getting this far)
>Talk to chad on this app for about 4 minutes
>Chad never opens app again because keeping this app on his phone is not worth it just to talk to you
>Chad will go back to messaging you on iMessage the next day
>"Hey chad, remember what we talked about before? If you want to communicate can you use AutismChat please?
>No response
Don't you guys ever get bored of being assholes all the time? I have the same situation as this guy, fell in love with a girl who happens to use iPhone. I ended up using iPhone as well. Got married. You expect this person to literally break up with this girl because of a phone? touch grass immediately or KYS.
> have to buy a special phone brand to get married
No matter how shitty my life can be, at least I’m not an American.
I didn't have to buy anything to get married. I started using iPhone because I wanted to. I got with this girl and proposed with a Samsung Galaxy S8 in my pocket. Next cope.
>fell in love with a girl who happens to use iPhone. I ended up using iPhone as well.
why don't you take a step back and think about what you just said
I've thought about it already. Do you want to tell me what you think that means? I had little exposure to iPhone before meeting her, and after spending time with her laying around the house watching youtube videos and shit I was able to play around with her phone and thought the UI was sleek, so I purchased iPhone next time I needed a new phone. Next cope?

>How the heck can I get a proper ad blocker on an iPhone?
Install one from the App Store?
They all seem to be paid. For example, AdGuard works okay but you have to pay them to remove YouTube ads.
You bought an iturd dude, wasting money is your thing why the fuck are you being a cheapsake here?
>I'm entitled to free software
Lol. Lmao even
>you have to pay them to remove YouTube ads
not in the browser
Use Vinegar.
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/vinegar-tube-cleaner/id1591303229
And stop being poor.
Just buy one, poorfag.
Get vinegar, it's an adblock for youtube. It's still like $1 but it's better than buying a subscription service through adguard.
>buying a subscription service through adguard
This is for VPN only which you don't need unless you want to torrent in e.g. Germanistan or watch foreign Netflix. Normal ad blocking in Safari is available through AdGuard free, while systemwide ad blocking via DNS is available through the AgGuard Pro version (one time payment), but you might use free apps like Blokada for that as well.
Meanwhile it's completely free on Android
app is called AdGuard
thank me later
Install Adguard and Enable it on Safari. Easy
Get Opera GX, it has the ability to disable ads.
define "proper"
With brave I never get popups or even ads. As for other apps, you have to get your ass to jailbreaking it, and every new IOS version makes it harder. Jailbreak devs are also slow, the latest supported version of ios is 14. I'm staying on 13 since every "upgrade" makes the phone shittier. Back on topic: Jailbreak it and download proper apps for youtube, web browsing or whatever the fuck you want to. You'll have to do a lot of homework, but it's doable. Is it easier on android? Yes. Is android a piece of shit OS too, but for other reasons? Yes.
Decisions, anon, decisions.
I know one (1) person with an iPhone, and she's so technologically inept, it's not even funny. She calls my monitors "computers", doesn't understand how saving files or a folder structure works, never writes messages, always calls, doesn't know how to update apps and got internet for the first time last year (and now calls me about every day to ask me stupid questions).
Do you really think that her using an iPhone is the reason that she is technologically inept? if she were to switch to Android today, do you think she would somehow become smarter? That must be what you think, because you started your comment off by mentioning the fact that this person uses iPhone. To me, it sounds like you just want to label people who happen to use a different product as stupid when in reality you are just extremely insecure about every personal choice you make in your own life. You can't even justify your own choices in technology, so you direct it outward and make fun of other people.
She's using an iPhone because she's inept (just like every Apple user) and because she thinks it's a status symbol (just like every Apple user).
She is using it because she likes it. How she came to like it is irrelevant. It does not matter if she saw an advertisement, noticed a friend using one or simply picked it up at a store and liked it. Are you saying it is a problem to use a product because you like it? Do you have any other comments or issues you would like to bring up, genius.
KYS, btw.

>never writes or messages

$9.99? Do I really have to pay to get basic ad blocking lists on iOS?
The upstream data is maintained by open source team and the integration cannot be that hard.

i bought adguard pro for like $2 three years ago and it worked fine ever since
they added a safari extension as soon as they were available so u don't get ads on yt either
Is that actually like uBlock Origin level on PC?
If so i rather pay 9$ than let these adfags make a cent on my heckin clicks

To block ads in Safari:
- install "Firefox Focus", enable its content blocker -> blocks tracking in Safari
- install "1Blocker" (free), enable its content blocker (ads only) and the Safari extension -> blocks ads in Safari, even on mobile YouTube
Alternative:
Use Brave or Orion browser (testflight only) instead of Safari, they come with a native ad blocker
To block tracking (and some ads) elsewhere systemwide:
- change your DNS to 94.140.14.14 (AdGuards DNS)
- OR: buy and install AdGuard Pro (it's slightly better than the similar, but free "Blokada" or "Lockdown Privacy" apps, that do the job as well via local VPN [data never gets sent to foreign servers]).
- OR: get a Raspberry Pi, set up pi-hole and PiVPN and connect to it via Wireguard
Notice that all 3 use DNS-based blocking, which is NOT as good as uBlock Origin.
Remember that you won't be able to remove ads in the YouTube _app_ like this, only on the mobile YouTube page in Safari (needs the 1Blocker extension). To block ads in the YT app, you need to sideload uYouPlus via AltServer, it's easy.
It's free on iOS as well.
Some of us have both Android (GrapheneOS) and iPhone and are not inept, nor consider object of utility to be a status symbol. I miss "click to top", quality apps, better backups and smaller phones on Android. I miss easy sideloading (instead of AltServer shenanigans), setting up any app as default, ability to stop telemetry (GrapheneOS), split view and transferring files via USB on iOS. Otherwise there is not much of a difference to me.
Thank you for the effortpost anon.
Would 1Blocker also take care of pop-up ads on Soap2Day? It looks like AdGuard free suffices for that but I want a canonical suggestion I can recommend to my gf (instead of three apps + a separate DNS server).
I don't have good enough of an uplink (Comcast sucks) so can't do WireGuard + Pi-Hole.
>Would 1Blocker also take care of pop-up ads on Soap2Day?
Yeah it should (remember to enable both the "ads" content blocker and the extension if you go with 1Blocker).
> It looks like AdGuard free suffices for that
If AdGuard free works for you, go with it if it also blocks ads on the mobile YouTube page.
>instead of three apps + a separate DNS server
I can understand that. I would still recommend to have an additional app (like Blokada or Lockdown Privacy) or 94.140.14.14 as DNS to keep apps from needlessly phoning home, at least on your own device.
i just use my mac with adblock
Don't get an iPhone if you're not gonna jailbreak it.
You can't jailbreak a recent iPhone.
iphones are unusable
i use non-pro adguard and nextdns. i have yet to see any ad in safari or in apps
Lol retarded
Blokada might work
Open appstore
Search adblock
Set up AltStore
Download all the paid ad blockers for free
Doesn’t require jailbreak
Works on all iOS versions
Enjoy
