i use it and i dont get twitch ads, but i could see them baking in twitch ads into the stream, in which case it would be very difficult for the ad blocker to detect it

dumbass you just repeat what other says, there's nothing to detect on baked stream because there's no real stream you can receive in first place, ffs

    pirating files is a crime
    specifically it's copyright infringement
they renamed it piracy to make it sound like it's actually a problem

blocking ads is just violating an unspoken agreement that you support their website via leasing your brain to middlemen for fractions of a penny

both are distinct from any kind of theft or trespassing as linus compared them to

an illegal file share has a miniscule chance of causing a lost sale, but it costs the copyright holder nothing whatsoever to distribute
and typically they boost sales by spreading brand awareness
this is actually a bad thing since holders of valuable ip are almost always investors rather than creators

ads never needed to be a thing at all, they don't even boost sales industry wide, they just divert sales from companies who can't afford to run add to companies that can
either charge for your services or just eat the hosting cost
I'm not sitting through a sales pitch on your website that's probably just going to be seo sludge anyway
I guess that one stresses a server for no profit, so it's a logical stretch to imply it's stealing rather than not even comparable

piracy is the right choice, except for those services worth supporting
ad blocking is the right choice always, unsolicited advertising should never have been culturally tolerated
retail theft used to be based on a good day
now it just puts shops out of business in favor of amazon
    so scam amazon instead

      >you WILL pay nothing
This is part of why I block ads in the first place.
If I get an ad for a restaurant that is nowhere near me what am I supposed to do? Drive hundreds of miles just because they have a special going on for the Fourth of July?
And don't get me started on the fact that there's maybe like 5 ads which get shown ad nauseam every five minutes on a youtube video.

I do wonder sometimes if anybody in advertising realizes people can actually get TIRED of hearing about your bullshit...

Main thing that I hate. Especially since not every platform is available and it changes per country.
Was watching a show and it changed 3 different platforms, 2 only available in the USA.
Impossible to find some older shows too.

I would CONSIDER whitelisting a website on my ublock if it guaranteed ads that are not distracting from the content and are not full of pozzed propaganda. If it is a video ad I will need it to have a lower volume than the video I am about to watch.

I stopped following him around the time he left for Vermont or some shit. Why did he move to Austin? Is Vermont too cold for the schizo midget wop?

He moved to Austin because his new benefactor is there. If someone was bankrolling me for a million dollars to do what I'm doing and occasionally show up on a podcast I'd move there too

The advertising bridge was forever burned by ad networks not giving a fuck and allowing literal viruses to be spread by em, to not mention insanely heavy "legitimate" ads that have shit like video that makes the site load 50 times slower.
Adblockers are a necessity to navigate the internet, and the ones that don't know about it just ignore 99% of the internet because it's horrible.
That bridge probably could be fixed 10 years ago by enforcing some sort of crippled HTML designed for advertising that outright cucks any attempt at doing anything but a picture of X size and Y filesize.

plus pop-ups, after being almost completely eliminated, have had a huge resurgence because zoomers and third worlders are too fucking dumb to not click them. adblock software doesn't come prepacked in the app? might as well not even exist for them.

It's not piracy, it's file sharing.

israeli copyright industry uses the slander term "piracy" to equate duplicating digital files with murder and kidnapping and robbery.

The israelitedicial system has allowed COPY RIGHTS to be perverted into NOCOPY RIGHTS, nobody knows the original intention behind the rights was for the public interest, not for israeli corpos.
