Metal peaked with Neurosis' Through Blood In Sliver album in the 90's and everything made since then has been inferior.

Back when i listened to this (98) it never even occured to me that it could be Metal (neither hardcore actually) - it really was something else and out of this world. They really should have stopped there

Agreed, they never topped this on anything that came after, despite their best efforts.

I wouldn't agree with this but I do think that some purists underrated the genre especially Mudvayne,POD,Slapjak,Kittie, and Pre)Thing) amoung others. A good Nu Style Breakdown can actually add a lot.

Is that the guy from Crazy Town on the right? They weren’t even nu-metal, they were like overproduced poppy rapper wannabes. Fit in with the vibe at the time but you might as well put Eminem on there.

Also SOAD weren’t nu metal but in fact contributed to its death and helped make metal a credible genre once again.

This soad isn't nu metal revisionist history makes no sense to me the first 3 soad albums could not possibly be described as anything else. Which is why they're great

Honestly even back in the day I remember people saying "Le SOAD isn't nu metal tho". It's just cope because they attract pseuds, same as Deftones, who don't want to be associated with the trailer park nu metal audience.

Nu metal isn't the peak of metal because it's functionally not metal, or at the very least, is a very fringe metal genre or loose relation. Nu metal was birthed out of the alternative scene, not the metal scene, of the late 80s and early 90s.....it just so happened there were SOME metal bands involved in this too, bands like Pantera, bands like White Zombie, who themselves were "un metal" enough in presentation to fit in with certain alternative tastes. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Faith No More, and Rage Against The Machine have more to do with nu metal than anything, and like nu metal, that's not metal, it's just loosely metal related, or metal adjacent.

Crazy Town was nu metal. They were a trash one hit wonder band people only know for one song, which was not a nu metal song. But their other music is nu metal, they're basically like a trashier, even worse version of Limp Bizkit.

SOAD was nu metal, it doesn't matter if they changed styles three albums in to try and remain relevant when nu metal became unpopular like everyone else.

is that Kid Rock and Crazytown? The fuck do they have to do with nu metal?

Kid Rock really isn't nu metal, but you could consider him part of the larger trend which was simply rap rock, of which nu metal was the crown israeliteel, and the same people who listened to nu metal were listening to Kid Rock anyway.

This album cannot be considered nu metal. It's too good. And every nu metal song, no matter how decent, has some percentage of stupid in it.
