we are getting closer and closer to a point where every talent one can have will be greatly surpassed by AI.
what will the purpose of life and the main activities of humans be after that? sports? mindless consooming?

That's pretty impressive. AI is a better artist than any human.
right now that's not the case. But it's only a matter of time like with chess, right now AI can easily beat any human in the game.
yeah you don't know shit about current AI chess events
>it just takes pre-existing work and tweaks it
Isn't that what eveeyone does anyway?
Prove me wrong and imagine a new color.
> imagine a new color.
Bluish Yellow
Post it or you didn't imagine a color but just a name.
>AI can easily beat any human
This is the premise. Don't move the goalpost.
>This is the premise. Don't move the goalpost.
What are you taking about? Move the goalpost from where? The strongest human player on the planet is around 800 elo bellow the strongest engine. That's a fact.
>easily
>beat
>any human
What elo only means is that AI won more matches, and at best a better player. Not that it can easily beat any human.
Anon, this is utterly retarded. Do you even know what an 800 elo gap means in this context? It had to be calculated incrementally by pitting stronger and stronger engines against each other. The math stops working properly when the gap is this large - the output of the ELO formula may tell you that Carlsen has a 0.00006% chance of beating SF 15 NNUE, but in reality it's not even that:
If Magnus Carlsen, the strongest chess player of all time, played against SF 15 NNUE 1 trillion times, he would lose 1 trillion times. Magnus will tell you that, Kasparov will tell you that, the programmers will tell you that... There's not a single person at the top level in chess who thinks that it's humanly possible to beat the latest Stockfish.
> Post it
Here it is. It's patented new color.
how to have an epileptic fit in ukrainian
This mfka really thinks that he's "inventing" here.
>yeah you don't know shit about current AI chess events
Nta but what's your issue with what he said? He just said that chess AI is stronger than humans, and indeed, stockfish 15 NNUE is like 800 elo above Carlsen.
The more important thing is that AI can beat humans in Go.
AI is limited greatly by its input. So all the art AI you see is just a better looking version of whatever coomers and artists were drawing for centuries. Ai is not creative, nothing original will stem from AI. People who take AI seriously are people dont understand high school maths, ie women and leftists
humanity will grow exponentially and we'll head towards utopia or dystopia. people will be people regardless, you people acting like you'll turn into zombies are the only people who are zombies.
you're so retarded lol. why talk about something you've never used?
zoom in and it all falls apart
It's just art. It won a competition.
>art competitions
bourgeoise circlejerk
It still won. You're trying to critique something that has already been critiqued heavily by professional artists. You're a joke.
>critiqued
>professional artists
>at a bourgeoise circlejerk
bffr
>o-o-only I know what art is
You sound like a paid shill. Kill yourself.
>you said something true and proved me wrong, you must be a shill
What kind of argument is this?
That pic wouldn't exist without actual artists and it's a shitty collage anyway
It's just art some guy made and it's a great work that won a competition.
Maintaining the system physically. After AI can do that as well, humans will cease to exist.
I'm looking forward to AI making video games. They might actually be good.
AI doesn't "do" anything it just takes pre-existing work and tweaks it to match something a human asked for. The image in OP for example appears to be using the color palette from Ecco Homo.
>Humans don’t "do" anything they just take pre-existing things from nature and tweak it to match something another human asked for.
>literally copying
AI doesn't "do" anything it just takes pre-existing work and tweaks it to match something a human asked for. The image in OP for example appears to be using the color palette from Ecco Homo. verbatim
why hi, AI
Not equivalent at all, for one, all elements a human puts into a drawing, a painting, anything really. Have some kind of purpose, they have a logic behind it, no matter how flawed. A computer can't do that.
Also, GPT3 (or whenever one of this faggy companies builds a real AGI (if they do it)) you will never have rights or legal personhood.
What happens when it starts to copy other AI generated images?
So what?
If someone else paints better than me, does that mean I can't paint anymore?
If someone else plays the piano better than me and composes better music, does that mean I can't enjoy playing or compose anymore?
Art and talents isn't just about creating content for others to consume, it's about expressing yourself and finding enjoyment in that.
It's the same thing with chess. Normies whine about chess engines being more powerful than any human player, but anyone who plays and follows chess will tell you that the only issue is the opening prep arms race at the top level. And even that is irrelevant for Fischer random (chess variant with randomly shuffled pieces on the back row) because it is not humanly possible to memorize prep for hundreds of different starting positions.
You can express yourself with the help of AI too. Future artists will be making genuinely amazing stuff.
Modern artists should kill themselves though, they don't deserve what's coming acting the way they are.
And what exactly is that?
Hmm good question...maybe shilling AI on LULZ? Seems increasingly popular these days.
>what will the purpose of life and the main activities of humans be after that?
Sports, sex and philosophy
And who is going to pay humans to do these things?
This is why we need to dismantle capitalism now
And? Who cares? There will always be a market for man made art, just for the novelty of knowing it was man made.
TV and records didn't destroy theatre and live music because people still enjoy the novelty of watching a live performance. We can build machines that can lift many tons, but we still watch weight lifting as a sport. Chess bots can now beat every grand master but people still play and whatch chess etc.
The same will happen to art. Sure, low-tier artists (people whose job is like designing graphics for bedsheets or office decorations) will lose their jobs. But high artists who people actually care about will still exists. Sometimes they will have scandals were it is figured out that they use AI but that's about it.
If you look at Ai art for more than 5 seconds you can see how jank and incomprehensible it really is
This Ai art in the OP looks fine at first glance but looking at more closely you'll see that some of the people don't really look like people, they don't have proper anatomy, they're just shapes and a robe, hell it looks like one of them is melding into the background on the right
Is the giant circle suppose to be a window looking out at a city? Because what seems to be out there also looks like it's inside whatever the robed figures are in. It doesn't look like a City, it looks like an unfinished mess of barely cobbled together detail
I can't believe pajeet's and techbros are shilling Ai art on LULZ of all places
I for one am looking forward to Star Trek holodecks, and individual people able to build fully 3D movies and video games by themselves with AI help, without needing the resources or connections of a movie studio and acting agency.
>but artists won’t have jobs any more!
Eventually AI will be better as CEOs, presidents, and AI programmers, and we will live beyond the age where people have to do menial work in order to justify their existence
>Eventually AI will be better as CEOs, presidents, and AI programmers, and we will live beyond the age where people have to do menial work in order to justify their existence
Exactly. If you do wage labor, your existence will not be justified, and you will be put on minimum welfare and sterilized.
The only people who will exist one generation later are the people who justify their existence with ownership of AI and robots.
You don't need justification to stay alive you schizophrenic moron. Build your own robot.
How are you going to pay for that without a wagie job?
I'll find myself a hustle.
Or just become an electrician.
Why would anyone hire a human electrician when robot ones are cheaper?
Ah yes we are currently in lalaland now.
I'll hire myself stealing their copper wire them.
Why wouldn't rich people use use robocops to execute you?
Why would people that own robots give you anything for free?
Because I'll be stealing poor peoples copper dumbass.
And rich people will be too decadent to care about anything that doesn directly or immediately affect them.
Poor people won't be able to afford copper because they rely on wage labor and copper comes from natural resources which they do not have the mining rights to, which rich people will have because they have robominers. If you rely on wage labor to survive, you won't survive.
You won't need to pay for anything retard
AI nanoswarms will take over and annihilate their creators, this is the "great filter"
>AI nanoswarms
Now you're pushing it. Don't make me post a basedjak.
post it, doesn't change the facts
A human still chooses the final design.
And that's all art is.
the problem with the pol types jerking off to the "end of artists" are that
1. what art is has evolved over time
2. art is more than just drawing and painting
what pol sees as the end of artists i see is the end of the age of post modernism
did you know for thousands of years art was based off imitation, and it was only around the 18th century with the rise of the romantics that the idea of originality came to be?
>Dionysian imitatio is the influential literary method of imitation as formulated by Greek author Dionysius of Halicarnassus in the first century BCE, which conceived it as the rhetoric practice of emulating, adaptating, reworking and enriching a source text by an earlier author. It marked the beginning of the doctrine of imitation, which dominated the Western history of art up until 18th century, when the notion of romantic originality was introduced.
The ones taking about the end of artists are artists having mental breakdowns. If you see someone making fun of such artists it's because they're acting like absolute homosexuals on social media, trying to halt AI progress because they can't cope.
Anyone enjoying AI knows that it's the future of art and it's a great thing. Future artists will be literal gods of creation.
What's up with the gaslighting, fuckboi?
I'm not gaslighting.
The idea of ownership will mean nothing when robots are AGI driven. It would mean the cost of everything would be 0 because robots would be building and maintaining themselves without any of our input.
>The idea of ownership will mean nothing when robots are AGI driven. It would mean the cost of everything would be 0 because robots would be building and maintaining themselves without any of our input.
Why would the robots do anything for you? Either they'd serve the masters they're programmed to serve or they serve themselves.
>what will the purpose of life and the main activities of humans be after that?
Pic related
>everyone is happy and safe, forever
...oh no!
the stuff on /ic/ is good. this is garbage though can't tell what it is supposed to be.
All production from the beginning of time to the end of time has been done for the eventual process of consumption. So get that weird Bourgeoisie work ethic out of your head. When all your needs are met what you produce at that point becomes itself a form of self-consumption. All human activity will no longer be sublimated for potential pleasure which gets inevitability captured by the few who need not produce.
Most of these shitty ass AI images fall apart the moment you look at the details. Your brain has a tendency to fill in gaps in images or text, it doing it right. Your brain is unironically doing more work to make these images beautiful than that retarded recombinator ever could.
A human brain makes things that have logic and coherent details, an AI will never be able to do that. It's the same reason I doubt it will ever be able to replace actual writers when it comes to fiction.
But just in case I will start learning electricity with my father as a safer option.
However sometimes copium is good because I wanted to learn how to make visual art and without it I want to jump off a bridge and do a triple a flip because every skill I've ever wanted to do as a hobby (and maybe side income) has been made obsolote. (It's a personal problem)
AI can’t paint on paper. Digital art is a meme and will never be able to replicate the beauty of brush strokes on paper.
Like horse did with the advwnt of cars, we will just die and the owners of the world will be the one left. If you aren't in the top 1% by 5 years it's unironically over
there will come a point where sex with robots will be infinitely better than real life orgasms with other humans. there may be hope for us all
