AA Is a cult

Anyone else tried AA before but left because it was one huge cult?

yeah all the [thing] anonymous groups are pretty heavy on religion.
kind of has to be that way, no? these people lack the control/insight/self-reflection/power to unfrick themselves, so they have to look for inspiration elsewhere.

You can't cast out the alcohol demon without God. Those who get sober without God missed a perfect opportunity to find religion

It's not a cult because they don't compell you to stay. It's not a community just meetings in church basements that no one forces you to go to. The first step is admitting you are powerless

Not me, but I was one employed as a sort of personal assistant to a man, and one of my duties was transporting him around.
One of the things I was charged with transporting him to and from was AA meetings, and to put it bluntly, I wouldn't piss on those Black folk if they were on fire.
Of course I raised these concerns with my employer, and he agreed, but it was a court mandated thing, so.

I went for over a year and I'd still be a drug addicted moron if I didn't go through the 12 steps. However, most of the people in there relapse and it's absolutely because they don't use Jesus as their higher power, everyone that tippy toes around Christ, trying everything but what the program was actually founded on (Christianity) ended up worse off than before. I don't go anymore, I go to church and haven't had a craving for drugs or alcohol since. It's been years, I'm so glad I don't go anymore because I just known the rooms are most likely filled with homos and trannies these days. I couldn't suffer through a meeting with some mentally ill, demon infested, axe wound trying to tell otherwise sane people how to do life without drugs.

I've had a couple of drinks since in a social setting, I just can't bring myself to get drunk anymore and it's been quite some time since my last one. You know what they say.

AA was founded on the idea of using LSD to treat alcoholism (which it does)

Then the israelites told the FBI to shut the guy up.

So yes it is a cult but without LSD the success rate is like 3% instead of well over 50%.

One of the founding members used it because he couldn't accept christ, his drug use isn't something to be looked up to.

Here is the thing, LSD is far more effective in making a non-religious person religious than any missionary. It isn’t addictive either, only danger to your mental state comes from irresponsibly high and constant use but that’s with any substance in existence, even then a lot of people can use lsd a lot and turn out fine; someone who uses lsd responsibly is no different to someone who drinks coffee

I've used it, I don't disagree with your entire statement, it's just not for everyone and I'll never take it again. I have to be honest with myself and for me it isn't an avenue to God but to each their own. If it worked for you then God bless.

The thing is that lsd can be a very different experience every time, and it changes depending on a lot of factors, but it is very possible to have a very direct and intimate experience with God via lsd (which I have).

            God bless you too

You need to look into narcanon and Phillip Kindred Dick. They were responsible for all of his mental problems and were supplying people with the drugs that made them go crazy. When you see the connection to that real cult you'll notice chemists who had government funding because of the operation they successfully pulled against the government. It's interesting. I have to leave now and switch to a different IP address by driving to another open WiFi connection.

I do NA, and if you look around online you can find anonymous-like support groups that are pagan and other spiritual based. there's even buddhist based ones.

NA has the highest relapse rate. I'm telling you the only successful people in these groups find Jesus Christ, and most of them end up leaving the "program" because of the mentally ill freaks that pray to demons. The crazies eventually take over the groups and start complaining about Christian members. Happens every time. Not to mention those who go just looking to take advantage of vulnerable women with low self esteem.

i never understood these ex addict groups. they forever view themselves as ex addicts that can easily get back into whatever they were using. i belive an ex alcoholic can drink responsibly it all depends on their mindset

I think to beat any sort of addiction you need to replace that negative source of pleasure with one that's less negative or even positive. Exercising, eating healthy, a good relationship, friendship, religion, spending time in nature, creative hobbies etc are good ways to break addiction. Its never easy, but you are master of your own destiny, you decide what you want to do, not the bottle you're holding.

AA doesnt seem culty but I can't say im a fan. Druggies going to these meetings and meeting nothing but a bunch of other druggies and getting chummy with them isnt a great idea. I know people who go to AA and they always become close friends with weird druggies who always end up stealing from them or giving them drugs.

So you think an addict has no hope then?

        Anonymous

Differentgay. There is some hope for addicts, but the current groups don't work as well as they should. Probably has something to do with them being built on the idea that the addict can't help themselves so therefore need to rely on a religion to get past it. They should be about taking responsibility and building the strength to deal with it.

Kek every addict I know who does AA or NA goes in and says 'frick this shit this is a cult' then either decides to at aleast give it a try so they don't die an they end up loving it an staying sober or they don't go to it and end up kwabing themselves with drugs/booze
