He was right about Wolfmother though, they had one song corporate america latched onto then were never heard from again.

Maybe, but Mike didn't have the foresight to see how much worse things would get with mainstream rock music. America doesn't even deserve another Wolfmother-level band anymore.

Stripsearchand the Easy cover were big songs, too. No one under 35 knows this, though.

in fact they were the "easy cover band" for many. that song alone granted them entering several normie spaces to then find out they were just a weird metal band.

they got better afterwards, and before, before they were tops. the real thing era is kinda rough spot and mike tries to be rhcp california frontman.

wtf. I thought FNM was supposed to be good. Why is this so bad?

Your fags need to get the contexts. Here in Chile, Viña del mar is the most important non-rock festival in latin america, most of the artists there are the typical pop, latin, reggaeton, dance music that is mainstream. Rock and metal music by that time (1991) had no tv or radio airplay since we were recently ending a dictatorship and most of the entertaiment and media industry here were still in the hands ultra-conservative catholic shithead that considered rock music for degenerate drug addicts.
Rock and metal existed here, but was very underground, until someone, I believe from a Bulletin Board System, which was an old chat technology using telephone modems at the time, started a campaign to bring Faith no more. Then the petition spread in every university, community and subculture until the owners of the festival accepted, probably thinkin FNM was some healthy soft-pop-rock band. My dad told me he watched the Festival on tv that day with some friend and were blasted by the energy and provocative nature of the performance. Yes, at times the band sounds a bit off but thats because the engineers of the festival had no idea about alternaive rock/metal. By then, rock and metal was every were, in every radio, every music store, everywhere.
No band IMO had so much cultural impact here by the time.

I like Wolfmother. They were so cliche and derivitive that it was cozy. Just a simple power trio cranking out hard comic book rock. Better than FNM singing about pedos and wiping babies asses.

This wasn't the first time any of this happened and calling it "cozy" is retarded. Wolfmother are no better than Kingdom Come or Ghost or Jet or Greta Van Fleet, it's all retarded derivative trash.

and now today, i come to this board i rarely come to, and bam, mike patton.
it just keeps happening. every other week, i see some random thing, and then it starts popping up elsewhere. two times is a coincidence, three times is a pattern. we're far beyond three times now.
