have it really bad and ask specifically for tretinoin. if they offer you retinoids or retinol, you double down and ask for retin-A, or some other brand of tretinoin by name.

I had such a treatment and it definitely helped.
I used to almost be disfigured by all the pimples and scars and one year of tretinoin saved my face, it took a while to recover from all the scars but it was worth it.
However there's a lot of side effects and I was lucky to be followed by a very good doctor who took great care of the dosage, I know some people weren't that lucky. So be careful with this shit, but if you can get it, it's definitely worth it.

        >be careful
You need to be as careful with tretinoin as you need to be with a kitchen knife, i.e., just don't be fricking moronic. Minimise your routine, and start with the lowest strength you've got and apply once a week, building your way up to every other day over the course of two months. Then up the strength when you are finished and you aren't experiencing anything negative.
It's still a lot safer than shit like AHA which can burn your skin when you expose it to the sun while on it. Despite this, the latter is available OTC while the former is not.

There is a cure. I've posted this and similar posts on IQfy in the past and let me post it here

    >I told you (you being IQfy) countless times the cause and cure for acne and I will again. It's pathogenesis arises from disturbances of the skin's microbiome, namely the overgrowth of certain species of bacteria. This arises principally from the modern sun deprived lifestyle where you lack exposure to the UVB and UVA rays which otherwise exert strong bacteriostatic effects. Secondly, thirdly and fourthly respectively, a lack of personal hygiene (routine face washing), a lack of bedding cleanliness, and an excess of dietary carbs, b12 and iron are all condusive to the rates at which the bacteria multiply worsening the infection and the outbreak of acne.

    >There is a cure. Doxycycline is the first stage treatment. This will kill off the bacteria responsible for the infection and also exert antinflamatory effects lessening scarring. You have it pretty bad so I suggest 100mg BID for 3 weeks then 100mg once a day for another three weeks. This should resolve most of it but it won't be enough. Once the doxycycline is discontinued (and only once it is otherwise you'll experience photosensitivive skin reaction) you need to buy a tanning bed and use it for 5 minutes every other day. This will continue to work against any harmful bacterial colonization and thereafter should be considered maintenence therapy as if kept up it will prevent the species responsible from gaining a foothold ever again.

I get almost no sun and I don't have acne. You're right about UV light being bactericidal, but bacteria and yeast shouldn't be an issue in the first place. I have oily skin and still don't have acne. It's driven by an inflammatory process, which bacteria/yeast exacerbate. I think some people already have inflammation, and then a sort of allergic reaction to the microbiome on their skin which leads to the acne.

, but they're not schizo, UV is used to treat numerous skin conditions, and Doxycycline has been used at low doses to treat acne, though the dose is low enough that it's not bacteriostatic, rather it's used as an anti-inflammatory.

True, but frankly, what's even the point after 30? You missed out on sex, you missed out on jobs, you missed out on friendships, all because people were repulsed by your face. After 30s, chances of retrieving all of those lost opportunities is slim.

cut out sugar and seed oils and sleep with a clean towel or cloth on the pillow to reduce oil buildup. No more acne.

      >all because people were repulsed by your face.
that has never really happened to me, for every bad remark i'd get there were also 10 body positive morons who would pretend i didn't have anything in the most stupid ways.

besides i was only bothered by being forced to live with skin AIDS, can't care less what anyone thinks

nope woke people really mean it. they want a society that's full of blacks, fat people, etc... (they are usually one of those things themselves) this was actually one of the reasons why things started to derail between me and them, i don't care if wanting to get rid of acne is like wanting to get rid of black people. i am not having that discussion.

You're moronic if you think they mean any of it. You can't ignore your basic human nature. It's like those women who say they hate white people but only have sex with white guys.

I've had bacne since middle school, I don't get acne anywhere else. Maybe the occasional face blemish but that's it. I did Accutane regimen once and it completely cleared my back but about a year or so later it's pretty much back, no pun intended. I don't think it's as bad this time around but it's there and noticeable. I have given up at this point I don't even bother with the peroxide bullshit anymore it's too much effort and money wasted for very small results.
