They should when polyester will nuke their test

Synthetics are superior for actual outdoor use

Because natural materials retain water longer and lose warmth when they get wet.

If you’re wearing natural fibers and you’re in freezing conditions, your sweat can freeze closer to your skin and kill you. When wearing synthetics, that doesn’t happen as much.

At least one layer of clothing should be made of natural materials because plastic clothing will melt on your skin when exposed to fire and cause extremely bad burns. And flame stupidant chemicals in textiles are agent orange tier poison

Me too. Sheds microplastics constantly and has hormone disrupters up the wazoo. Recycled plastic in general smells like shit and is inferior to virgin plastic in every way but hebrew companies try to sell this as a feature not a way for them to make more money for selling worse stuff

Patagonia makes me unreasonably angry because of this. It’s literally made of subsidized garbage and you are paying a premium for objectively inferior polymers. In terms of materials science there is just absolutely no way for recycled plastics to have the level of quality control on the material that virgin oil polymers have. It’s literally just boosting their dei score and being paid for by tax dollars to make you an inferior product.

You can literally smell it with virgin vs recycled plastic products. Virgin plastic smells good like gasoline but recycled smells like a cancer-ridden AIDS corpse

when will stupids realize that ‘military grade’ shit is just what is the cheapest and most effective, nothing beyond that

So that the zogbots are always in fear of getting burned to death by even the smallest spark, and hence work hard to maintain ~~*freedom*~~ and ~~*democracy*~~.

They are cheap, effective, and easy to maintain, which is perfect for Pvt. heckface who is more concerned with staying warm and having access to an ample supply of replacement gear should it be needed. Also much of modern gear is required to be fire resistant so they contain material like nomex. Some units occasionally buy higher grade stuff from Massif and issue them in limited quantities.

It all went wrong with mcnamaras military budget reforms before that pretty much every military had quality made gear/webbing especially after the plastic revolution that really took hold in the mid 70s

You know veterans have way higher rates of cancer than the general population?
Im not saying its the synthetics in their clothes (mainly). But clearly the military doesn’t care that much about the long-term health of soldiers.
